The Rockets!!

A really big thanks to Ron Broussard (Boz) for digging out a couple of photos for us.

From L to R - Byron Broussard (alto sax); Richard Fortner [deceased](guitar); Sal Taranto(bass and some songs); Johnnie Elmer [deceased] (drums  and lead singer); Walter Blessey (piano); Kenny Rich (tenor sax) and Ray Dubuisson [deceased] (trumpet and some songs)

And the same folks again.  Love Elmer in the hat!

The same members are in the first picture with the red jackets but faces are not as distinct due to the early flashbulbs.  Both pictures were taken the summer of 1958.

The first picture was taken on the band stand at the Gulfport Yacht Club.

Jim Gay's Photos

These are some of the pictures taken by Jim Gay. (Thanks, Jim) It seems like for this reunion everyone was taking pictures. That is good. If you notice the absence of anyone let me know and I will try to find a picture of them to post.

(A footnote -- these picures were taken by
June McGown.
I used her pictures because getting others into a format
that I could handle was a more than I could do and
still get them posted in a timely manner.
My appologies to those who sent in more pictures
that I did not post.  I will try to get them up in the
near future.)

Pictures from the 55th reunion luncheon

Paul and Myrtis Franke generously opened their beautiful beach front house to us
for a Saturday luncheon.  It was a rainy, wet day and I know they were expecting the worse when
the hoards descended upon them.  It was a wonderful luncheon.  If you were not there you
missed a great time!!
Lining up for the group photo on the Franke's
stairway.
